About Us

Training Academy for Cardiovascular Interventions (TACVI) was set up to counter the lack of structured training programmes in Cardiac and Vascular Interventions in India and many other developing countries. We observed that while the number of patients requiring cardiac and vascular procedures is increasing, there is a dearth of trained personnel to perform them. In addition there are no dedicated training programs to teach the fundamentals of interventions to newly qualified Cardiologists and also to those senior Cardiologists who wished to initiate an Interventional Cardiology program in their hospitals.

 

 

Many will be started by Physicians with long standing cardiac practice or Cardiologists with a stable patient in –flow. Though they are qualified Cardiologists, they generally look towards brushing up their skills before starting an interventional program, to enhance their patient’s safety. At present there is no structured program to fill this gap and TACVI attempts to address this by conducting training programmes at regular intervals.
